The Villa Park Cable Commission was established to oversee Villa Parks public access, education and government channel (TV VP Style on Comcast 6 and AT&T Channel 99) and issues related to the operation of the channel.
The Cable Commission meets at 6 p.m. the first Monday of each month, at the Village Hall, except when that Monday is a holiday, then the Commission meets the second Monday of that month. The public is welcome, and encouraged to attend all meetings.
The Senior Concerns Commission makes recommendations to the Village Board to ensure and promote the well-being of the senior population of Villa Park.
The Senior Concerns Commission meets at 6 p.m., on the first Monday of each month. The commission meets on the second floor of Village Hall, 20 South Ardmore Avenue.

Powers and duties of this commission include: having jurisdiction as to planning and zoning as set forth in the Villa Park Municipal Code; conduct public hearings; make recommendations to the Village Board regarding preliminary development and final development plans, plats of subdivision and zoning of annexed areas.
The Planning and Zoning Commission meets at 7:30 p.m. on the second Thursday of each month. Their meetings take place on the second floor of Village Hall.

The Parks and Recreation Advisory Commission has been created to: advise the Village Board of Trustees on matters relating to the administration, operation, and conditions of recreation programs; to advise the Board of Trustees on matters relating to facilities, including the recreation buildings, swim pools, skate park, playgrounds, etc.; to advise the Board of Trustees on issues referred to the commission by the Board of Trustees; to assist the director of Parks and Recreation and other staff on developing and maintaining comprehensive recreation programs and opportunities for the village residents.
The Parks and Recreation Advisory Commission meets on the second Tuesday of each month at 7 p.m. in the Iowa Community Center.

The Traffic and Safety Commission acts in an advisory capacity to the Village Board in all matters of traffic and safety, which are initiated or investigated by the commission.

The Economic Development Commission prepares and recommends to the Village Board procedures for the planning, execution, and implementation of business district plans, including plans for development of adjacent areas to provide for the housing, social and recreational needs of the business district.
The Economic Development Department serves as the centralized information source for all economic development activities within the village. The director develops and implements economic development programs and strategies, with the objective of assisting businesses in starting, expanding, locating, and relocating within the village.
The Economic Development Commission meets on the third Wednesday of each month, at 5:30 p.m. Their meeting place is on the second floor of Village Hall.

The Board of Fire and Police Commissioners appoint all sworn officers of the fire and police departments, except for the police chief and fire chief. The members serve terms of three years.

The Villa Park Rotary Club was chartered November 6, 1971 as a community service organization dedicated to serving the local and international community. The Club has been responsible for many community improvements, including the gazebo along the Prairie Path, Rotary Park, two play lots, and the clock at Park Boulevard and Ardmore Avenue. The club's current international project is in support of construction of bore wells and a small medical center in a rural area of Kenya.
The Rotary Club of Villa Park meets at 12:15 p.m. every Tuesday at Crazy Pour, 105 E. North Avenue in Villa Park.

The Kiwanis Club of Villa Park is a service organization comprised of caring men and women from all walks of life. The club's objective is to bring aid to children in need. The majority of Kiwanis fund raising activities benefit children in Villa Park and surrounding communities. A portion of funds raised by the Kiwanis Club of Villa Park helps Kiwanis International objectives which focus on the special needs of young children from prenatal development to age five. Kiwanis Club of Villa Park welcomes anyone interested in serving others.
The Kiwanis Club of Villa Park meets every Wednesday morning at 7:15 a.m. at Hi-View Restaurant, 425 W. St. Charles Road in Villa Park. The club hosts speakers to share information about organizations, happenings and events. Newcomers and visitors are welcome.

Friday Night Connect is a partnership between Willowbrook High School, the Villa Park Police Department and the local clergy to provide students with safe, positive activities. All students in sixth through eighth grades at Villa Park public and private schools are invited to join Friday Night Connect. They will be mentored by Willowbrook High School students, and adults will provide supervision. This program is FREE for participants.
Each Friday Night Connect will take place at the following three locations:
- York Center Church of the Brethren, 1S071 Luther Ave. in Lombard
- Harvard Avenue Evangelical Free Church, 206 W. St. Charles Road in Villa Park
- Calvary United Methodist Church, 136 E. Highland Ave. in Villa Park

Calvary United Methodist Church will host its Annual Cookie Walk on Saturday, December 10, starting at 9AM until sell out. Many varieties of homemade cookies, candies, and bars will be featured. The Villa Park Police Department is pleased to announce that the next scheduled quarterly meeting for SALT (Seniors And Law Enforcement Together) will be held at the Community Recreation Building located at 320 E. Wildwood Ave. on Wednesday, Dec. 14, 2016 at 11 a.m. Residents and guests are invited to arrive at 10:30 a.m. to gather and enjoy some coffee, pastries, and fellowship prior to the presentation.
Village President Deborah Bullwinkel will be discussing the year-end summary of Villa Park adventures. Ofc. Soto will be discussing crime prevention for the upcoming holidays. The Villa Park Senior Concerns Commission will again be sponsoring a lunch for all guests immediately following the presentation.

The Village of Villa Park is coordinating with Roy Strom, the Village's waste hauler, to assist the Village and ensure residents and local businesses have an alternate disposal option. To meet the objective the Village has started E-Waste "the right way" a program designed to provide a convenient, "no cost," environmentally responsible solution for the community. A registered IEPA collector, recyclers and refurbishes of electronic waste will properly process program-accepted electronics.
The drop-off site is open on the third Saturday of every month, 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at the Public Works Garage, located at 20 W. Home Ave. This free service is only available to Villa Park residents. Please have ID ready.

SCARCE is organizing a film festival thanks to a grant from the Illinois Science and Energy Innovation Foundation (ISEIF). We are seeking teams of creative high school and college students to produce inspiring short videos in world languages. Up to 20 teams may compete with a chance of winning $1,000 in prize money! SCARCE will be able to provide about 20 sets of professional quality video equipment and software to the teams for the best possible learning experience. Schools can keep the equipment for other educational projects.
Groups must register by Dec. 31, 2016 to submit video entries by late Feb. 2017.
