The Village has historically passed, by Resolution, a time and date for children to
participate in Halloween Trick-or-treating. Halloween can be a potentially problematic time for the community. By adopting this Resolution, a uniform time is recommended for the event, thereby allowing the police department to increase patrol for the purpose of protecting the children who are participating in the Halloween festivities, as well as to protect the community from vandalism that can be associated with the Halloween holiday.
The Village Board approved official trick-or-treating hours for 3-7 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 31, 2016.
