COVID-19 Update
NOVEMBER 20, 2020
Tier 3 Resurgence
With the COVID-19 spread now exponential in every region of the State of Illinois, the statewide positivity rate at record highs and hospitalizations surpassing the spring peak, all 11 regions have moved from Tier 2 to Tier 3 effective Friday, November 20, 2020.
While the state is in Tier 3, no indoor recreation programs will be held with the exception of Preschool and Funtime Junction Daycare under careful guidance of DCFS and IDPH. Recreation Staff is planning for the winter season beginning in January for in-person programming. In the meantime and just in case Tier 3 lingers into January, the staff is compiling virtual programs and outdoor sports options that comply with Tier 3 Mitigation protocols.
During Tier 3 The Community Recreation Building (325 E. Wildwood Street) is closed to the public as is the Iowa Community Center (338 N. Iowa Avenue).

November 17, 2020
While VILLA PARK – Parks and Recreation remains COVID -19 free, the pandemic is spiking in DuPage County.
Due to the rise in the number of COVID-19 cases and in order to reduce the risk of community spread, Villa Park Village President Bulthuis has directed that all Villa Park public buildings except those providing essential services, be closed to the public until further notice effective November 17, 2020 at 5:00 p.m. The Community Recreation Building (320 E. Wildwood) is closed. Funtime Junction Daycare and Preschool will remain in session at the Iowa Community Center; however, all other programs are being postponed.
This decision is due in part to the DuPage County statistics which are currently above the daily positivity rate of 15 % with a 7-day average over 14.6%. (https://dph.illinois.gov/covid19/covid19-statistics) The Village asks for your patience as we continue navigate the novel COVID-19 virus.
We encourage participants to follow the VILLA PARK – Parks & Recreation (VPPR) on Facebook and the website (invillapark.com/211/parks-recreation) to learn more information about the changes to VPPR programs.
