To improve the area of the roadway by removing the existing deteriorated pavement and replacing it with new, structurally sound pavement. To reduce the frequency and severity of flooding and sewer backups by separating the existing combined sewer.
This project consists of the reconstruction of selected areas on East Maple Ave, North Summit Ave, East Oak St, East Pine St, East Division St, and North Myrtle Ave within the Village of Villa Park.
This includes installation of new storm sewers, manholes, inlets and catch basins, Hot-Mix Asphalt (HMA) pavement reconstruction, curb and gutter, driveway, and sidewalk removal and replacement, drainage and utility improvements, pavement markings, erosion & sediment control, and restoration and other related and incidental work. This project will include approximately 5,670 linear feet of storm sewers. The combined length of road improvements is 8,077 feet.
The Village's pavement management program has determined that the condition of these streets has deteriorated to the point that pavement rehabilitation is needed. This project is to be partially funded by voter approved bond proceeds.

|April 16, 2021||This project is expected to be advertised for bidding in the next few weeks. A bid opening is expected to be held in June, after which all bidding documentation will be required to be submitted to the Illinois EPA for review and approval prior to the IEPA’s award of loan funding for the project.|
|February 19, 2021||Staff is awaiting the IEPA acceptance of the loan application.|
|January 15, 2021||Staff submitted the final loan application to the IEPA on January 12, 2021.|
|December 4, 2020||Staff is proceeding with preparation of the final application to the IEPA.|

|October 2, 2020||Plans for this project are now final, pending IEPA review. A loan ordinance authorizing the Village to borrow funds from the Illinois EPA was approved at the September 14, 2020 Village Board meeting. The ordinance is now subject to a required public comment period.|

|November 15, 2019||Staff has held a progress meeting with the design engineer. Staff is in the process of reviewing the preliminary design plans and expects to provide the design engineer with review comments in the next one to two weeks.|
