Kenilworth TIF Façade Assistance Program Takes Off

TIF Check Presentation

The Façade Assistance Program in the Kenilworth TIF area (mostly along Villa Avenue between St. Charles Road and Park Boulevard) is well on its way to enhancing many Villa Park businesses.

Since its 2015 launch, the program has already proved to be an incredible success. Economic Development Director Jan Fiola held four meetings with the business/building owners in the TIF area explaining the benefits of the program.

“I am happy to report that to date, 10 building owners have taken advantage of the program,” says Jan Fiola.

Tom Butera, owner of 47-55 South Villa Avenue, is just one of the building owners who have participated in the program. In the picture on the right, Tom accepts a check from Economic Development Director Jan Fiola for improvements to his building as part of the Façade Assistance Program.

The program provides financial assistance to improve the exterior of buildings including awnings, signage, painting, new doors and windows - 50% of the cost, up to $20,000.
