Villa Park Police Deliver Presents to Local Families

Villa Park Police help Santa deliver presents

Santa enlisted the help of the Villa Park Police Department Dec. 23 to give gifts to local families who might not otherwise receive any this holiday season.

Members of the Villa Park Police Department and their families assembled with lists in hand at the Villa Park Walmart, 900 South Route 83, on the morning of Dec. 23. Comfort Dog, Eve, from St. John’s Lutheran Church and School in Lombard even accompanied the group, spreading joy to holiday shoppers.

With carts full of presents and wrapping paper, Villa Park Police Department members checked out with the help of patient Walmart employees. The operation inspired plenty of cooperation from local businesses. Store Manager Dan Buncik even donated a full cart of presents and a bicycle on behalf of Walmart. Villa Park Ace generously loaned a truck to help transport all the presents.

With the generous help of an anonymous donor, the Villa Park Police have been helping spread cheer to local families for more than a decade, delivering tens of thousands of dollars-worth of presents just in time for Christmas.

This year, the Villa Park Police escorted Santa to drop off toys, clothes and other presents for seven local families.
