Yard waste pickup begins the week of April 5, 2021. A prepaid yellow yard waste tag must be affixed to each bag or can set out.
Yard waste collection is provided on a pay-as-you-throw basis. Yard waste consists of grass, shrubbery clippings, leaves and plant material. It is to be set out in 30-gallon Kraft paper bags, designed for the collection of yard waste, or in 35-gallon (max) refuse cans clearly marked "yard waste only". Yard waste bags or cans are not to exceed 50 lbs when full. Do not use plastic bags for yard waste (plastic cannot be tub ground, composted or tilled into soil). Yard waste is limited to what is generated at the residence being serviced. The waste must be out by 6:00 a.m. along with refuse during the yard waste collection season. Yard waste is collected from April - November 30th each year.
The yellow yard waste stickers, required for yard waste collection services, are available for purchase at Village Hall. Other sites offering yard waste stickers for purchase can be found on Roy Strom’s website, linked in the gray bar on the left.
Collection times change. Make sure refuse, recycling, leaves, and yard waste are set out at the curb by no later than 6 a.m. on collection day. Village ordinance allows items to be set out after 7 p.m. the evening before collection day.
