Villa Park civic, business, and community leaders invite you to the showcase event on Saturday, April 28 to celebrate our Village's ranking as the 8th best place in America to raise a family and 28th best place to live. The event will include student performances by District 45, 48, 88, the Islamic Foundation School, and the Mayer Irish Dancers. The evening also highlights a special performance by Mick Archer's dueling pianos. Each ticket gives you access to these events, as well as three food tickets to cash in at various local food vendors, and desserts provided by local churches. A student art competition, craft table, and photo booth are sure to entertain the young and young at heart. Call Before You Dig!

You may be surprised to find what's under your yard. Oftentimes, water, gas, electric, phone, and sewer companies deliver their services underground. Avoid any personal injury or damage to these lines by contacting JULIE; state law requires you to call before you dig, regardless of the project. Call 8-1-1 or 1-800- 892-0123

Villa Park Named Tree City USA

Villa Park has earned the recognition as a 2017 Tree City USA. This year marks the 33rd year the village has received this accolade. Villa Park is one of more than 3,400 Tree City USA communities, with a combined population of 140 million. The Tree City USA program is sponsored by the Arbor Day Foundation in partnership with the U.S. Forest Service and the National Association of State Foresters.

Villa Park achieved Tree City US recognition by meeting the program's four requirements: having a tree board or department, a tree care ordinance, an annual community forestry budget of at least $2 per capita, and an Arbor Day observance and proclamation.

In honor of Arbor Day, the Village of Villa Park will host a tree planting ceremony on Friday, April 27, 2018, at 10:00 am near the intersection of Michigan Avenue and the Illinois Prairie Path.

Memorial Day Ceremony

Join the Villa Park Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) Post 2801 and the Village of Villa Park as we honor those individuals who have served our country in the military during times of conflict or war. Water Main Flushing Operations

The Village of Villa Park will be performing its semi-annual water main flushing operation in May. This is a necessary maintenance procedure to clear the mains of rust deposits and to check fire hydrants for proper operation.

Flushing will be performed on May 7, 8, 9, 10, and 11 between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. We ask that you please refrain from doing laundry during the above indicated times, as rust stains could potentially damage clothing.

We regret any inconvenience this may cause you and thank you in advance for your patience. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact the Public Works Department at 630-834-8505

Please Keep Storm Inlets Clear of Debris

Spring is here, which means warmer weather and rainfall. Please be sure to keep storm inlets free of clogs during the wet season to help reduce flooded streets,

Clogged inlets prevent storm water from entering the sewers, which causes standing water in the streets and potentially ice if temperatures reach freezing.

Help your community by keeping storm inlets clear of debris!

Household Battery and Used Pen and Marker Recycling

Roy Strom and the Village of Villa Park offer household battery recycling at the front desk of the Public Works building (11 W Home). Residents can dispose of D batteries and below--cell phone batteries will not be accepted.

The Public Works Department will now also recycle your used pens and markers. Visit Public Works to utilize this free and environmentally friendly service.

Public Works is open Monday-Friday from 7:30 a.m.-4 p.m. Please call 630-834-8505 with any further questions.

Pioneer Garden Centennial

Pioneer Garden and Feed celebrates 100 years of business in 2018. Pioneer was the original feed store when Villa Park was mostly farmland and continues the tradition today selling bird and animal food, along with a huge variety of plants, garden items, and specialty organics.

Angie and Tony Rojek purchased the store in 2015 and are proud to be a part of Villa Park history. Employee Bill Karges has worked at Pioneer for over 40 years and can help you with any garden questions. Shop local for all of your gardening needs, and support the store that has been in Villa Park from the beginning., 630-832-0815
