The AHA’s Heartsaver® CPR AED course trains participants to provide CPR and use an automated external defibrillator (AED) in a safe, timely, and effective manner. Reflects science and education from the American Heart Association Guidelines Update for CPR and Emergency Cardiovascular Care (ECC). This course is designed for anyone with little or no medical training who needs a course completion card for their job, regulatory (e.g., OSHA) or anyone who wants to be prepared for an emergency in any setting.

If you are seeking training for a group of five or more, or are an individual looking for availability outside of the current offerings, please complete the CPR Request Form. A Villa Park Fire Department CPR Instructor will get back to you within five business days.
Blended learning includes an online course for cognitive learning for Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers and Heartsaver® CPR/AED. After completion of the online portion, students can register for the skills test. This is a hands-on skills portion taught by the Villa Park Fire Dept. This must be completed within 30 days after receiving the AHA online completion certificate. After the successful completion of the skills portion, students will be issued a 2-year certification ecard.

The American Heart Association BLS for Healthcare Provider Course covers core material such as adult and pediatric CPR (including two-rescuer scenarios and use of the bag mask), foreign-body airway obstruction, and automated external defibrillation for healthcare professionals.
